Thank you Dynamic! its nice to have people pitch in like that.
does C# message boxes need their own Windows Procedure in Windows programs?

messagebox works similar to in vb.net , but c# code it's self is very much like c++ to show a message box , with the hwnd of the form and a caption saying "test caption" you would do the following br] private void button3_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show(this.Handle.ToString(),"test caption"); }
other similarities br]to make a return like vb6's VbCrlf either use this br]this.label1.Text = "test\ntesting" the \n making the line drop down or some code i designed to help someone out with a coding problem.... char it = Convert.ToChar(10); this.label1.Text = "test\n" + it + "testing";
in that case it drops 2 lines , 1 for the \n but the other is done by "it" . it's all good fun anyway

in C#, is there a message box style that lets you enter text? and use it, or do you have to create a seperate dialog for that?

you would create a seperate dialog for entering text , the same is recomended for inputbox's in .net , using a dialog form rather than the actuall inputbox control.

yeah, same in c++, but for a dialog, in C# do you need to make your own windows procedure for it? (CALLBACK function)
