Ive put an update up, i havent resized all the command buttons/text yet that's next on my list, and AG i could not replicate the error you got, but i did receive a different one, so i tried to put some error handling on it to see if that helps, as for the items being black, those are not yet active items, they stay unactive by default, im not sure how to make them activate other then by double clicking them when you want to view them, and the resizing of the child window, i was using me.width instead of me.scalewidth, so that's fixed now

1) Winzip 2) Dont use spaces in file names 3) When they enter a wrong thing to register it, let them try again, dont close the dialog 4) ctrl+z needs to undo/ctrl+y redo 5) Comic sans ... bold....argh argh..*breeaath* *breeath*

Comic sans seem's funner then ms sans serif, lol,
the control y, and z do need to be added to work like the buttons do, i keep forgetting that.
I would winzip it but it's not in it's distribution state, im just uploading the exe for you guys to check out, but if everyone would feel safer having it zipped first ill do that. i plan on making it a full install to include every, or at least almost every file that it uses as a resource so that i can be sure that people will not be missing files, it's going to be put onto CD and they will be able to download it as well if needed.
Im hesitant about the dialog for registering it though lol, i sort of like it to be a pain in the a's's if you enter the wrong key:P
ctrl + Z and ctrl + Y are reserved for the default undo-redo built into the control "which is crap" that's why the buttons work for undo - redo better then control z and control y, im thinking ill just have to add UNDO Redo to a different pair of virtkeys I guess :S, either that or subclass my main form so that i can monitor the keystrokes and interupt the ctrl + Z \ Y
fixed the undo redo key problem, i just had to cancel out the keycode by setting it to 0 when it caught it.

well i didn't have much of a play with it yet, or read all the posts in this thread so sorry if something has already been suggested.
It looks great, i can see where you're going and it does seem pretty newbie friendly, some cosmetic changes like the fonts used (i think i saw georgia used somewhere eww ) and some tidying up of the icons would make a big difference (like the ones that have white backgrounds)
When you click styles > caption you can't then cancel out of it, you either need to select something or ctrl alt del the program.
One thing i'd suggest is line highlighting, it can get really confusing if you're working on a large source/page to see where the cursor is, so if you could lightly highlight the selected line that would be useful (hope you know what i mean)
I don't know how hard it is to implement but mabye a check open tags button that says you have x amount of xyz tags unclosed? (a bit like mIRC's bracket check)
Sorry if i'm not making sense, only half awake, it's good to see people working on stuff that doesn't connect to MSN though lol, keep it up.
