SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN IT ALREADY! Lot's of people didn't understand the theory / story behind Matrix:Reloaded. This film, is one of the rare films that I can truthfully say *needs* to be seen more than once, to fully understand , and get the most out of it. The matrix makes us question what is real, and what is not. Looking at The Matrix, and the matrix reloaded, many people I've spoken to have realised that the two films are almost opposites of each other. E.G, Matrix 1: Trinity brings Neo back to life. Matrix 2: Neo brings Trinity back to life. Matrix 1: Morpheus wakes up neo to inform him that he's part of a larger system that he stays a part of by staying asleep. Matrix 2: Neo wakes up Morpheus to tell him of the 'truth of neo's existence'.
To make the scene where Neo mixes his matrix code with Trinity to bring her back to life more believable, I think what happened was Neo shut down Trinity's signals that told her body to die because she had been shot... and because Neo is the one, that gives him the power to control his surroundings inside the Matrix.
Moving back on to the first Matrix,.. a bit that made me think for quite some time is where the Oracle asks Neo if he'd still have broken the vase if she hadn't said anything to him about it. If this is about choice, and how we are influenced by suggestive comments, what about the rest of their 'choices' ? What I *think* , is that the Oracle must have planted Trinity's love for Neo through the mere power of suggestion.
Obviously the bit in Reloaded that made most of us really use our brains, is the architect scene. Obviously the previous five 'one's chose to re-join the matrix and save mankind when given that 'choice'. The architect tells neo that the previous five 'ones' went back to save mankind because they felt an overwhelming connection to their species, the human race. The oracle clearly knew this, and so I think she created neo and trinity's love to try and *brake* the cycle of which door the 'one' will choose this time round, hence the oracle telling trinity she would *definately* fall in love with the one. Because trinity had been told this, I think she was really trying to get that connection of love with Neo, she was really trying to make it happen (her choice was influenced by suggestion, which is what I was saying earlier). Judging by neo's reaction when the oracle (in the first film) tell's him "I can see why she likes you".. neo's reaction is one of shock (who likes me??) which suggests he isn't actually looking for love. But when the oracle give neo that hint, he began to look for that love, trying to figure out who it is... he;s been influenced by the oracles suggestion.. again. see the pattern? So perhaps neo and trinity's love was created by the oracle to give neo that other choice. Rejoin the Matrix to save all of Humanity, or let all of Humanity and the machines die, and go back to trinity. Neo does choose the second option, save the love of his life which brakes the cycle as I think the Oracle intended too. Neo never had a choice all along. From the moment the Oracle "commanded" Trinity and Neo to fall in love, he was already set on the path to choose her over the rest of humanity and the machines. Regarding this 'zion is a matrix inside a matrix' crap... that is totally not true. Look at the facts. Zion is the real world. When neo entered smiths code in the first film, they were 'connected' together. Smith said it in the second film. Something about that exchange connected the two in some way that was completely and utterly different than any other connection. Neo can sense Agents now. He can sense Smith now. think when he entered the source, he mixed with the actual code of the architect, and took that back with him to the real world. I think some of that code gave him the ability to connect to the sentient machines and send direct signals to them. Neo is after all, many parts machine himself now. (note, all the plugs on him). Considering they are connected directly to his nervous system, if he gives off enough energy from his brain he can send a brief "Stop!" command to the sentinels over a very short distance. Hence the reason he went into a coma afterwards, because he had used so much energy from his brain to send that stop command, his brain needed time to recover.
In the first matrix, morpheus summed up what the matrix was. hen we first saw the matrix, we believed he was strictly speaking about the actual virtual world. However, I believe that the matrix is not the virtual world. I believe it's the virtual world AND Zion. Remember Morpheus QUOTE: "What is the matrix? Control. The Matrix is a computer generated dream world built to keep us under control in order to change a human being into this." The Matrix is the virtual world, *and* it is Zion. But only the virtual world is encoded, which explains why I don't believe this matrix inside a matrix theory. The machines were able to get their programming of the matrix to a 99% acceptance rate. However, 1% of the population would reject the code, and one of that 1% would become so large that he/she would become "The One." In order to keep the system running smoothly, they had to build in a plan for that 1% to leave the virtual world, and make the big choice. That is why they were allowed to leave the Matrix and build their city of Zion. In order to give them purpose. As smith stated in the second film, what are we without purpose to our lives? Nothing. However, once The One reached the source, he was to put his code back into the original matrix, and choose 23 new human beings to start a new zion. He would create a prophecy that another "One" just like him would follow and hail the destruction of the matrix. It gave that 1% of the population a purpose in life.
Ah well, that explains my theory. Like it or lump it. But the matrix inside a matrix theory isn't right.
