ok im banned again Ive delete the cookies, Deleted the chat.ocx It DL's a new one and comes back with dead-ends to logins, repeat logins, unaurthorised, final banned Any ideas pls ST4 and out

You may be caught up in one of the wildcards MSN has banned.. if you're on dial up try disconnecting and re-connecting.

They've been banning with wildcards for ages now, sometimes its the only way to keep a group of trouble makers offline. Example; someone gets killed (banned with thei full IP) - they rejoin 2 minutes later with the last 2 digits altered ~ you see where wildcards are useful?

IRC Servers have been using Wildcards since the creation of IRC (and MSN, of course, is IRCX). The best thing about these is because if you do it right, you can ban the user's proper domain if you can hunt it down. These days, even if they're on dialup; if you ban the domain ... they won't be able to get in. IP Addressing is what teaches you the concept behind this (it's something, I'm sure..all MSN Sysops go through). However, some ISPs only have one domain..thus, you'll be banning the entire ISP (customers of that ISP) from accessing your chatroom/IRC server.

hi, Very weird, i got back on, been deleting cookies etc the last few days, its been working, but now i cant join any room. I may have to look at a 2nd dial up IPS short term to see if its them being banned, ive asked but theyre not too interested. Any ideas pls ST4 and where
