Well, whenever you are signed out you can sign in quickly by typing in your username and pass on the homepage without clicking on Logon. I find this very convenient. However, is there a way to put a check box so you can select to make it log you in automatically just like the Logon page does? I think this will be very essential. So what do you think?

That wont do anything, you can't just add a checkbox anywhere have it work, it would need to be inside the login <form> tags.

no, it's just a tickable box , it wont actually do anything i can assure you. Unless it's inside the form then it wont do anything.
It wouldn't be totally impossibile to "hide" the login that's there with some javascript then create a whole new form including the remember me box, but it's a bit of a pain when all you have to do is click "login"

and the reason you think it works is because of proboards setting a 6 minute cookie on login
*correcting 5 to 6

still shows me as logged in. after clearning cookies and waiting a lot longer than 5 minutes.
