disowning your child for not marrying a stranger is inhuman.
if someone disowned me, i would give them the finger, and go start my own life, and live it how i wanna live it.

its not inhuman, to them the kids going against one of the few things they ask of them and also their basically spitting on their culture and religion its about the same as a christian kid going round shooting up the choir with a glock , thou shall not kill

Just a clarification: I know what pashy means but to some it may give the wrong impression that arranged marriages don't have love. Couples in arranged marriages can develop love after they are introduced.

ebil and if you were religious such as hindu then by not going along with your arranged marriage you would burn in hell for all eternity when you die for it Thats not a common form of practice these days... it's more of a stereotype.

Arranged marriages suck to be honest about it. I would rather find out about the person before I married them not after. However as pointed out some religions do still have this twaddle so let them get on with it and let us get married our way or no way.

thats in your culture webby. your view suggests that all arranged marriages have no 'love' between the partners. and like chuck said "Couples in arranged marriages can develop love after they are introduced.". i know of two friends whose parents have an arranged marriage and they seem very content and look like they love each other. ofcouse thats what i've seen they could fight behind closed doors etc... but they act like any normal marriage.
it may seem strange to cultures we live in ... but then again i see eating frogs legs as weird. as i said these familes seem content and i can't see how there quality of life is any worse due to their marriage being arranged. its just there culture.
