.Net Framework 1.1 link: www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=enWhy should you have to download something for linux and windows to run programs. If people actually had the users best interests at heart, they wouldnt use .net, so you dont have to download the framework. Should just write it in C/C++. The main idea behind Java and .Net is to compile once and run everywhere (everywhere is far fetched, but nothing is perfect). As for the .Net runtime, it is bundled with windows since 2003, some local computer shops also sell .Net framework CDs, or normally most internet cafe shops let users burn the CD if you don’t have broadband at home. After 2 or 3 years .Net runtime won’t be a problem because it will be shipped with almost every popular OS. But even if a program is built in C++ it needs to be at least compiled once for a different system, and that’s not normally the case especially with large apps; you need to make some (or lot) adjustments to the code. Picture this if it costs a firm to develop $1,000 per hour and it takes 20 hours just to port the code for another system, it will cost $20,000 extra for the project. With .Net they can save this $20,000. As for the users I think .Net is beneficial. They will get less buggy, and more productive, secure, and user friendly programs. In .Net there are pre-build classes for almost everything a programmer needs arranged in a very logical way. Not to mention, .Net code runs faster on Windows Longhorn than Win32 API

OK Build #200 is now out, it has a pretty flash introduction and some fixes plus the manuals are updated the menus havent been added yet but thats priority for next build so if ya wanna see what the intro screen looks like you can download it from www.ad2k.net remember if you uninstalled your copy you will need to reactivate because the uninstaller removes all the registry enteries the program leaves

Im just against microsoft technologies generally...microsoft are so controlling. No doubt it is better, and in 2 to 3 years, or maybe less, we will see the real benefits, but not right now.

Because you only find all the bugs when you get it out there and people try to use it in real world situations!
Yeah why don't you be like Micro$oft and just release to the public. Then release patch after patch to fix features and security issues!!!
