The new spoof mail going around appears to be from ebay. The very official looking message tells you that someone repeatedly tried to access your account with an incorrect password. It tells you that you have to fill out the form with SSN, CC# and Bank account info amongst other personal data to verify your account ownership. It uses this guise as a replica of Ebays Verisign ID verification(which costs $5), and tells you because of special circumstances, you will be verified for free. It also says if you fail to verify using that email, your account will be suspended pending an investigation. This email is an attempt to steal your identity and finacial information. Do not click on anything or type in any of the boxes. Forward this emai, or any other suspect email under the name of Ebay to spoof@ebay.com
Ebay will contact you and verify the validity of the message.
