Last I saw, his hair was chopped to shoulder length again, and he was taking up a vacation in Hawaii (rehab, anyone?). Poor Jagger... mom's a violent abusive druggie and dad's a freak.

You know what's kind of funny in it's sad little way? About a year ago, Stapp and Flip did a radio interview for Rockline (Mark was at the time in Chicago tending to his sick mother)... he (Stapp) showed up late for the Interview (claimed he had fallen asleep on his couch and lost track of the time), stuttered his way through it, repeated himself constantly, babbled incoherantly at several points, and in general was a mess. When he was asked about this, he claimed to be sick, and on "cold medication"... Some of us mentioned that the behaviour was just a little too coincidental to be simple medication (unless he happened to ingest the whole bottle of meds), and that there was something else up that we were not being informed of. Strangely enough, we were attacked and ridiculed for daring to think that Mr.Stapp was less than perfect... almost human, even. Those same fans were the ones that tried to jump to his defense over the recent concert where Stapp was found to be passing out at several points through the show, as well as throwing violent outbursts and swearing at the crowd and screwing up his own lyrics. Some people are just blind to the obvious. I admit that I am a fan of OLDER Creed (as I said in another post, Pre-Human Clay.. specifically the Blue Collar version of My Own Prison), but his more recent behavior is showing the fall of Creed, and the rise of thir labelmates to hold the top position... Evanescence, 12 Stones, and Seether. So I guess good things can come from bad situations, huh?

Find a guitar player today that could match the talent of Richie Sambora, or Steve Vai, or Tommy Shaw, or Eddie Van Halen. The only ones that come close are the ones that ripped those guys licks. New music today sucks, there is no more originality, i half agree and half dont with ohio on this, richie sambora didnt impress me much on the guitar at all but i cant refute the prowess of eddie or vai, not to mention satriani, unfortunately i am unsure of who tommy shaw is. now keeping thses guitarists in mind, and others from that era of rock, they have beyond doubt been pioneers in certain styles and techniques of guitar playing, but by no means can we just say that people now are all rehashing older licks and ideas, as they themselves have done that at some point in their careers, not necessarily in released materials, but they themselves would have had guitarists before them that influenced the way they play and the way they compose music, and granted with each generation of guitarist there will be many people who do use the methods of other guitarists before them, but there are guitarists these days that do strive to create new ideas and new styles of playing, and that do have the skill and technique to come up with new ideas. mind you i am a little bias in this as i prefer a heavier style of guitar play than has generally been spoken about in this thread, but i can say that there arent too many guitarists lately that have impressed me and the ones that have have been around for some time themselves, namely Tom morello, who is definately using new techniques and playing styles and creating a lot of original sounds, and i am very bias towards Dimebag Darrell who i believe to be one of the best guitarists in the last decade, a few others have inpressed me over the last ten years but they are few and far between. However i don't try to compare these guitarists with guitarists from the 80's as they have completely different styles of music and the 80's were basically the time of shred and extended solos and there arent anymore vai's satriani's or malmsteens, i believe they dominated that style of play and will be unmatched in it, mind you a guitarist shouldnt be bagged because he doesnt play scales as fast as satch or malmsteen or doesnt have the tremolo bar capabilites of vai many great guitarists have been the rhythm guitarists of bands and have been overlooked in favor of the flair and style of the shredders and lead guitarists of the 80's just like ac/dc, malcolm young gets overlooked while angus gets recognition as he is the lead guitarist. 5 minute solos, while they sound good, and need great skill and technique to sound that way, in my opinion don't necessarily constitute a good song

No one here needs to judge you by the garbage you listen to... we can simply use your extensive pre-pubescent schoolyard vocabulary to figure out everything we need about you and your empty threats about gardening. Hooked On Phonics... not huked on fonix. Look into it.

Yes Ender Your right...I do like todays music..mostly cause I get and stay depressed alot..and alot of the groups I listen to now feels as though it's singing to my soul..telling a story of everything I feel. I have started listening to things like evanescence and 12stones..nine inch nails.. and well.. basically what Ender listens too.. is what I have been testing out. Music I have never tried before really..for being stuck in the 80's,lol.
BUT ........... I still have things like (hmm some oldie favs) Metallica, poison, G-n-R,skidrow,warrant,cinderella, and ect.
Does anybody like Eagles?? Hotel california
Or zzTop?? "legs" ?
lol... I like older stuff like that too..thx to my dad.. he looks like a zzTop group member..Has a lonnnnnnnnnng beard. anyways..straying from the subject a lil bit.lol

Cyrix, maybe on the mafia2k2 forum you can spout off like that and it will be tolerated, but not here. We like to keep our posts to a more intelligent level, or barring that at least coherent. Please clean it up.
Fisher, I agree dimebag Darrel was a great, and malcom is overlooked for his brother. Tommy Shaw was the lead player originally for styx, then co-lead with Ted Nugent in d**n Yankees. My reference to the guitar players of today was in their complete lack of originality and style. You could take a lead solo from the 70's/80's and listen to it and be able to tell who it was by the style. Today that is rarely possible. Today you could listen to a lead and say "d**n, that sounds just like Kirk Hammet from the ride the lightning CD" Find someone that created a uniques style and sound like Angus Young did, or Slash, or Joe Perry. And my reference to Richie Sambora came more from seeing Bon Jovi live in 1988 than from listening to CD's

No, I wouldn't care to rephrase my prior statements. I am very confident in my opinion of you, and your posts only further prove the point. Ignorance is bliss, and you're probably the happiest guy I've ever come across. Oh... if there's no "little punkz b****in bout uselezz s***" there, does that mean that if I were to register, I would be greeted by your silence on that board? One can only hope... Are you at all familiar with the "Edit" button? Why spam the board with useless garbage when you could put it all together into a single meaningless post? You must be spell check's worst nightmare... maybe you and it should become more familiar. And your comments on your grades say nothing for your local educational systems, except that perhaps it's time that they went through a slight restructuring.

i agree with you ohio i wasnt saying i didnt, but there are a fair few guitarists who are coming up with some original stuff but then there are even newer ones who copy them and the whole cycle starts again so nothing sounds new 2 months after someone does it kirk is a champ ;D another satriani student and well-accomplished musician Tom morello is the only guitarist i can think of off the top of my head that has come up with his own style or sound and a lot of his solos have nothing to do with conventional guitar playing methods, nor do a fair few of his riffs and licks either, an entire song played with an allen key lol but he isnt the first to use different objects other than a pick to play with, but it was different lol in retrospect you could debate this forever, lol but even though it sounded different it still used someone elses methods i.e hammer on's and pull off's, a better question would be can anyone these days realistically come up with something entirely new?, that hasnt ever been done before? i dont know if anything can be done on a guitar that hasnt been done in the past or doesnt use somethign that hasnt been done in the past

Good job Cyrix. As for your previous query as to why I care about how you write, some people find it annoying, rude, ect. That's the only reason I've even interfered at all. Besides the remark about mothers getting shot, which was so...un-right. But it's not expected for you to know everything about me. I was the one editing your posts, please try to clean up a little. You don't have to have picture perfect grammar, spelling, or so forth. Your posts weren't deleted, instead they were edited; same difference I suppose. I'll say I'm sorry, but it was needed in the long run. Alot of profanity and insults, which isn't needed.
