i was experimenting with mov and registers a bit.. ..and i didn t find any way to write directly into the cpu-regs.. i see the advantage of writing data segments eg into ram-stacks first and it works fine like that.. ..but i just was curious if it would be possible to mov a data segment directly into dx eg.. (it seems that mov doesn t support it - at least i didn t find any way).
assuming that it doesn t support it at all i d like to know why ? (if there is another technical reason away from "saving the user to cause damage" lol)

I don't have too much time to write out my own tutorial, hopefully you'll be able to understand this (I skimmed over the coding, gives a brief outline about using CPU-regs -- even though it doesn't answer your question either or not if "mov" can be used for cpu-regs...I'll try explain that tomorrow...I'm at work and soon to log in here). But check out this site and just skim over it. It'll give you a refresher from all the C++.
*thanks the higher ups for zOOey not switching to Visual-whatever*

Hey whats wrong with visual basic lol I mean, i only started it because i wanted to build apps...and not call every possible design of the window(looks at trad and his cup of coffee straining to learn the properties of a text box) . What a coincedence that article happened to be auf deutsch ;D ps..They can code asm/c++/every other language under the sun, bar html br] <TITLE>Untitled</TITLE> ;D *quickly runs out of this forum, too scary *

is really an interesting site, ty ..and funny to read something like that in german, don t have to read it twice or more, lol
*sidenote: funny phrases they use, in english it s always like: "low-level" and ("high-level" or "higher program language") ..in that article they use "higher program languages" and "direct programming" (which i think is a nice description, allthough i actually like the "low-level" phrase; understatement rules ! lol)
..but back to mov, not sure if i found the right words to describe what i was interested in ,lol ..it looks like you understood anyway, but to say it in another way (same problem at the end): what happens in ax(ah,al) ?
i see the advantage of putting it there first, can avoid a lot of serious damage, lol.. ..but basically i am curious for what technical reason i can t mov directly to d ?
danger.. ..90% of all sites i ever browsed to look similar to that one (and half of it are untitled).. ..and i don t think it s "untitled" because they are not able to, i think they just do not care, lol..
..pure information, no crap.. wahhhhhhhhh, gimme more, "spice" ,"spice", "spice" *thinking of dune*, lol
