******************SHADOW 3.0 UPDATES***************
> You can now make a PayPal donation (to show how much you like ShadowFX
)
> Completely new interface, more user-friendly and intuitive. You can access the main Shadow functions by clicking the buttons on the toolbar at the top.
> Main chat window & status window is resizable.
> Chat window text is now clippable (default on). This prevents Shadow soaking up your memory. (Enable/disable from Shadow Controls>General(ii) tab).
> For those of you using WindowsXP, ShadowFX now automatically inherits your visual style (Shadow looks XP-like!)
> New connect interface, very simple to use.
> Create room function is now improved. You can select locale & language easily. (check it out!)
> When connecting to chat, if the room doesn't exist, ShadowFX will use your default room create settings.
> New status window which logs raw data better (parses data better, has timestamp, has sleeker colours). Socket errors will always be displayed when they occur.
> Advertising Function has been added (access from the toolbar). You can set upto three custom adverts, and a 4th advert can be set that randomly says something from a loaded text file (useful if you want to load up jokes, bible quotes etc.)
> Can now use the Up Key/Down Key to retrieve last sent text on the status/main chat window/user whisper screens. (Note : it is a little buggy when you try and use the down key to, pressing up to get last sent text works fine though.)
> Null Take has been removed (disruptive). No unlock is available either, as I figured that if you had half a brain you'd already know theres an alternative way in Shadow
.
> GetIP function I did have working but doesn't work since MSN updated, so has been removed.
> The user menu has been re-sorted and organized.
> When using some functions that require you to be owner/host (i.e adding an access entry) Shadow checks if you're an op in the room first, and notifies you if you can set that entry.
> When Listing channel properties (Options>Properties>List Props *) the data is represented more clearly.
> Added new identifiers - $reason (for use with knocks only), $ownerkey and $hostkey (represents owner/host keys from main window text boxes). Trivia has its own identifiers.
> WhoIs data is also now represented clearly.
>MSN broadcast messages are now shown clearly (without the "E :" at the front)
> You can now change the language property easier (Options>Properties>Change Channel Langauge)
> On raws editor has been changed to accept 'like' strings, i.e "*MODE $chan -o $me*:/privmsg $chan :hey why de-op me!". N.B. Do not underestimate the power of this (I notice it seems to be overlooked, lol - Shadow processes these raws before anything else. Note that the raw has to be in caps, (i.e TOPIC, MODE, PRIVMSG) as this is how they are received from the server.
> Access viewer has been improved - it will check that the access file your trying to load is valid before loading it (prevents Shadow crashing). Also checks if you're a channel op as aforementioned.
> Friend finder has been improved - won't return fake MSN Ops (i.e people who are using scripts).
>Trivia game has been added! - for a short tutorial on how to setup and play trivia consult the Trivia Help.txt file.
> Shadow's font coding has had a major overhaul - Shadow now picks up underlined fonts and displays them properly, along with displaying corrent fonts etc. Also it will display your font that you use properly in the sendbox and the chatbox (i.e your font/style/color).. applies for whispers too. (This took ages to code & I'm proud of it
- but it will most probably be overlooked, lol.) When choosing your font (various times you can edit the font used throughout Shadow), the font editor auto shows your current font/colour/style settings too.
> To prevent disruptive usage, Shadow auto checks your gatekeeper to see if its random, and disconnects you if it is. (And no, deleting the rgk.dat file won't help
).
> You are now notified via broadcast when the language/onjoin property has been changed.
> Shadow now has emoticons!!! - they are off by default, but you can turn them on by going to Shadow Controls>General(i)>Enable Emoticons. N.B. you can edit the emoticons (i.e replace them with your own, to find out how consult the Emoticon Editing.txt file). Known bug - you can resize the emoticons in the chat screen. Just use your common sense and don't.
> Shadow also has url link detection. Please not emoticons & url link detection has not yet been implemented in user whispers.
> Hop/Away flood protection has been added (Shadow Controls>General(i)).
> Options relating to time have been fixed (Shadow Controls>General(i)).
> You can disable raw data logging (Shadow Controls>General(i)).
> Advertising Sleeper has been added so you can set Shadow to owner/host up, kick the person then dehost again. (Shadow Controls>General(i)).
> Event sounds (join, kick, whisper) can now be disabled. (Shadow Controls>General(ii)).
> When people are knocking (mode +u) the reason is also displayed, i.e if the user is banned/room is full/room is invite only. Also you can now use a new identifier for the knock reason - $reason. $reason will be replaced with the reason that the user can't enter (e.g. user banned/room is full). (Shadow Controls>General(ii)).
> Profile kick has been added (so you can kick people with a certain profile/no profile.),(Shadow Controls>Onjoin Options/Scroll Protect).
> Away/Return Options has been fixed (Shadow Controls>Onjoin Options/Scroll Protect).
> Room flood protection has been added (Shadow Controls>Onjoin Options/Scroll Protect).
> Safehost has been added (so only other owners can host people - hosts can't host people (Shadow Controls>Advanced(ii).
> Auto-Reconnect on split/kill/disconnect/error has been added (Shadow Controls>Advanced(ii). This does work but chances are when the server restarts ('split') it will try and reconnect, but won't be succesful since you can't reconnect straight away.
> Block All CTCP replies has been added. This was useful when IP grabbers were active. I've left it in this updated version though, since you still may find use for it.
> RGK Kicklist has been added (Shadow Controls>Kick List/RGK).
> Kicklist Porn Bots has been added (Shadow Controls>Kick List/RGK).
