DMQ, its so easy for you to sit there saying "its got to stop", but you have no idea how hard it is to actually implement measures to try and protect the room. We try our best, stop complaining about all the faults of the room. If you dont like it SHOVE OFF

Hey DMQ... haven't you learned anything by now? When you have a room that has a publicly known hostkey, and an access list getting cleared every X minutes, and everyone in the room hosted up and testing their mass kicks and mass-text and flood junk... obviously, there is going to be problems. But there's also going to be little that can be done to stop it. Ban them, they can come back on the hostpass. Change the pass, people complain. Welcome to the world of the test room. Want to do something about the problems? chat.msn.com/create.msnwDon't waste the space posting a rant here about it. Half the people in that room won't even visit the board. Why post a b!tchfest about it here?

50,000 times a complaint about something in the rooms gets posted. 50,000 times it gets posted to PM one of the owners regarding problems in the room. 50,001 times, someone ignores it and posts a rant on the board about how mean everyone is for not doing anything about the original complaint. 50,002 times, it's followed up by a strait out like-it-or-leave-it post telling the complainer plain and simple the way things have worked for a long while now, and to suck it up. 1 time, the complainer follows it up with "none of you will listen to me on here anyway, so I'm not going to say anything more. Could have saved us all that time and effort if you would have just jumped strait to the last step. You say it floods out sie and Webby... so don't you think they are already aware of the problem? PM them... see if you can work something out... and also why not code in a flood kicker? It's not like it's a difficult thing to create... and can be used for text, away/back, join/part, ctcp, notices, and so on... Don't POST about it... ACT on it instead.

Yes, that's just it, DMQ... in my 7 years on chat, I have no idea how fast someone can flood. Are you saying that the flood happens so fast that Webby and sie are not even aware that it happens? Or are you saying that the flooding is so intense that it takes out your ability to send a PM to the room owners? Want a real suggestion, given just for the intent of helping you? Get some real flood protection for that script you are running in there. It *is* possible to disable join/part messages on X number of joins in Y seconds... it's possible to block channel messages after X messages in Y seconds... it's possible to block CTCPs and kick users after X in Y seconds... why not do that for your script? You won't even have to figure out how to code it yourself. I'm sure you can find them in the mIRC section, or on the old forum in mIRC. Take a look. Beat them at their game, instead of ranting here about it.

Dmq, stop thinking the sun shines out of his ass, hes not the first to connect without an ocx, he wont be the last.
Secondly, when the floods are happening, i try my best to control it, theres only so much i can do on vincula without flooding, and im working on a sockbot
Thirdly, you EVER tell me to "shut the flower up" again or moan so explicitly, you wont be in the test room whilst im there
And i stress you should take draconis's advice, and try not to insult his intelligence too.
