Hi... i have Microsoft Visual Basic.NET here and just knew something i wud like to share br] in VB.NET there is the system namespace which you can use the net.sockets class to make your own connection socket.. BUT if you are satisfied with what VB6 winsock offers then i will be telling you how to add it in your .net IDE go to Project menu>add reference in the dialog click on COM tab select Microsoft Winsock control 6 now the problem that u will think that it has been added to the ToolBox but its not this is what u have to do to be able to use it if u like exploring the IDE after adding the control you can c that in the project viewer there is the MSWINSOCKLIB added to your project open code editor add this Private WithEvents Winsock As MSWinsockLib.Winsock
Private Sub Form2_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Winsock = New MSWinsockLib.Winsock Winsock.Close() Winsock.Connect("messenger.hotmail.com", 1863) End Sub Private Sub Winsock_Connect() Handles Winsock.Connect MsgBox("Connected, Socket worked :)", MsgBoxStyle.OKOnly) End Sub
enjoy and hope to c alot of network bots as u dont have to worry about making your own socket client btw when compiling your project make sure u include all the files including :winsockocx and the library files so ur program WILL work on all computers bye
