ok, well this isnt as simple as the thread title suggests but... say if i wanted to put some data into a listbox from a text file (or text box), if the data is delimited by commas i.e. item1,item2,item3 then it adds it as 3 separate items which i don't want!!! i've found a temporary fix for this by adding quotation around the data i want to add i.e. chr$(34) & "item1,item2,item3" & chr$(34) but i run into problems again if my data looks something like "blahblah'","blah,"ff," basically jumbled data so i was wondering, is there any other method of adding data to listbox in its entirity without it being split by the commas, or having any quotations (chr$(34)) being removed

I'm not exactly sure what you mean
You have a textbox or textfile that contains
item1, item2, item3
add u try to add it to a listbox
list1.add "item1, item2, item3"
When I do this It adds the data on one line of the listbox

oh yeah, well it was item1,item2,item3 etc and i was having the problem at college with using vba in ms access i just checked in visual basic 6 and it dont seem to have that problem whereas in vba it'd auto delimit the items by the comma, weird thanks anyway!
