working on a project that uses an RTB for user input and a select case keyascii for handling it if the enter key is pressed. works great cept for one small irritant. it beeps when the enter key is pressed never had that happen before and i've used RTBs in several projects before. any ideas how to stop this?

hadn't planned on using a send button but now that you mentioned it i always used something similar in the other projects. i'll just have to add it to this one as well. thz for the response ;D any idea why the rtb does that to start with?

put it in _KeyDown - sometimes _KeyPress triggers at the inappropriate moment (at least for Text controls)

make it multiline an look for input of newline character
