Ok, that is my calander. I am going to pick 4 numbers that make a square (example 1,2,8,9) I am going to give you the sum of the 4 numbers, you tell me what 4 numbers I picked. The sum=64, what 4 numbers did I pick. And remember to show your work.

12, 13, 19, 20.
Basically the sum of both opposites (eg. 1 + 9 or 2 + 8) always equal the same thing.. soooo half of 64 = 32, meaning you need to find the opposites that both add up to 32.
12 + 20 = 32 13+19 = 32
32 + 32 = 64.

That still involves guessing w0rd, you can do it with no guessing at all. I'll wait a bit for you or someone else to develop a formula before posting it.

Actually I'll do it now, I'm bored. Take the four example numbers again - 1, 2, 8, 9 - and assign them an nth term.. n n+1 n+7 n+8 This rings true for all possible combinations of numbers in a square shape. Then we'll add the 2 opposites - n + (n+7) = 2n + 7 (n+1) + (n+8) = 2n + 9 To find a number like 64 it's all the terms added together which equal.. 4n + 16 ....you know what? I've forgotten what I was doin. Need sleep, will tackle it tomorrow
