X + 4 3/5 = -7 2/3
I've tried rewriting the mixed numbers as fractions but it isn't working out. Any help would be great.

Change the denominators to 15 giving you X + 4 9/15 = -7 10/15
Now, since your adding a quantity and ending with a negative number, that tells you that X is a negative number. So now work it backwords by subtracting 4 9/15 from the -7 10/15 (Add them together and keep the negative sign) giving you -11 19/15. Reduce the fraction giving you -12 4/15. So X= -12 4/15
