Looking back on my last post where i said msn was doing some kinda work on stopping scripts etc etc entering rooms.
Well i hate to say i told you so
BUT I TOLD YOU SO ........ LMAO
LONDON, England (CNN) -- Microsoft says it will drop chat room services in 28 countries next month, in a move it says will ward off pedophiles and junk e-mailers. In a statement, the Redmond, Washington-based software giant said it made the decision following the growing abuse of the Internet, particularly in unsupervised, anonymous chat rooms. The company pointed to a rise in the use of junk mail known as spam and "unsolicited and inappropriate material, particularly with regards to children." "The straightforward truth of the matter is free unmoderated chat isn't safe," Geoff Sutton, European general manager of Microsoft MSN, told Reuters news agency. Chat rooms will be shut down in most of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America, from October 14, with millions of Internet users will need to find other online forums. However, it will continue to offer unsupervised chat room access to users who subscribe to at least one other paid MSN service in the United States, Canada, Japan and Brazil, the company said. In those countries MSN will have customers' billing details and identities on record and can track them if need be. Looks like your Scripting days are Over Boys But Dont Say I Didnt tell you so ;D

ROFL, there are thousands of IRC channels, mIRC wasn't designed just for MSN *edit: I use my script all the time and I rarely go in any room with it. I just create and code dialogs, its much more fun than sitting there pretending to be 'l33t' with ur takes and deowner prots and such

Yeah... I think _DS (and everyone else) said that MSN Chat was doing something months ago. I'm sure everyone or anyone at one time said they are doing something.
One thing about change is that change is always inevitable.
So WoW ... I told you so too. I'm sure you can get a job as a pyshic with that level of detail and vague infomation. Who didn't say after 4.2 to 4.5 that MSN was going to stop script access, are these people going to say 'Told you so' as well.
Whatever...

The only thing you're forgetting to take into consideration (Cybah) is that most people from MSN have no clue what IRCd is. They'll join an IRCd-based server and look at you funny because there's no Access List (...to an extent anyways; chanserv can be a nice replacement). But he's right, scripting is far from over really. People still have basic knowledge and can continue making more scripts and addons if they like; just that they have to realize that it's no longer going to be the same commands as it used to be.
Everyone, in some way or another, has said that "MSN is going to do something big" but not many have really given a nice date for the "big change" and pop out of the woodworks to say "I Told You So" like some two year old trying to point out that you can't eat before swimming because momma said.

As I recall it Doc and DS both saying MSN would stop script access. They never once mentioned MSN would become a place for only registered users to access their networks. So you didnt tell anyone anything. Not a scripter but have been on a few IRC servers....they didnt Kline me.

its called an ip fire -- who cares for msn chat, plus, if your desperate, just proxy your script to a country which will allow you access to the chats, just think, you could own all the good rooms on msn
