Hey i was just wondering.. for all of the millions of people who make scripting sites..
What are u going to base your websites around when msn shut its doors to free chat users?
obviously 99.9% of you have msn script downloads hosted.. are u going to run irc script downloads.. or just move on to webdesign as most people have? (including myself)
cheers

The more intelligent scripters will have based their websites on more than just 'Msn Chat'.

no 1 has really answered my question what is jas4msn going to do when msn closes? will it become jas4php or jas4html? or will it just close over all i think the recent change in msn is going to create a lot of boredom especially for the people who have scripting sites and arnt looking towards the webdesign path.. yer you can always make irc sites... but overall it will all end up the same.. there will be millions of just one type of site.. all irc

techgear isnt "screwed" far from it, TechGear007 will most likely still be hosting bots and scripts on msn for many years to come, obviously for all you scripers and bot makers out there have you not thought about MSN Group Bots and Scripts, yes it can be done and yes group chats will stay free, so TechGear007 will be able to keep going on those alone, im currently working with err0r onto getting some basic programs running and perhaps a few sources

Actually tim ircx is msn chat, lol but kiddies wont like *real* ircx/ircd servers cause they are more closely monitored then msn, eg when you log on to them your ip is recorded and your isp etc etc, as where msn everyone is known as a gatekeeper. Therefore if its more closely monitored script kiddies will be unable to guest flood or pp flood or take rooms because they will get caught. As for the msn scripting sites, from what ive seen they all suck and get barely any traffic unless they have something no other chat sites have, only half decient msn chat website is techgear... and i guess as said before they are screwed since 95% of everything on there is socketread for vincula or made for msn chat.

Axel, Thing that is getting to me is not many people are willing to learn. That's why this 'MSN Chat Closure' is such a big dissapointment as such. Because they're entering a world where everything is new to them and they have to 'redesign' their whole scripts etc. (smarter option is to just start with a fresh mIRC ). But anyway, Axel you've been right in your last few posts saying 'we should be moving away from MSN Chat and it's looks'. Many people are still making MSN Webchat themes for IRCd which is blah, something I think we should be avoiding. That's just like if you owned 1 cat, it died and you still buy cat food .

I agree with your post. Its a new world where you have to change the actual code(NOT the idea behind it). Thats how the computing world exists. Most likely it wont change from this course. It evolves non-stop. At the rate it gets a lot of people discouraged to enter the field. If you really want to follow computers through-out your life you WILL HAVE TO learn to accept change and adapt your skills as it progresses. Works the same way for almost anything. Do you want to hear a story? most likely no, but heres something for ya. My grandfather used to build houses. Did almost up until the day he died. When he first started the business did they have nail guns? any of the electric tools you have now-a-days? not anything like today. What he was forced to do by our every changing technology was to adapt his current knowledge into a new concept. If he chose not to he would have been out of business because people wanted houses built faster since they could be. Same thing fits into the field I work in. Every single day people in my industry work on products to eliminate the amount of work going into a certain project. Little lesson of the day provided by Patrick(Cope) br]If you are not wanting to adapt the things you do, advance with society, then get out of computing, become a Quaker (or) move to a different world.
