Lose hope in what... the inability to expand knowledge beyond MSN Chat Scripting? Sorry, but I don't see what the big thing is with everyone trying to make an exact rip of MSN... MSN Webchat clone, MSN Server clone, MSN Webchat themes... is there no originality and creativity left in the world?

Anyway, isn't MSN's design copyright... I'm sure someone may get in trouble out of copying their design etc. if they find out about it. As I've mentioned before though, MSN Chat won't close in all countries and I still get the picture in my mind that people aren't will to learn a similar but or complex code in IRCd. People are just lazy I guess in trying to enter a new world of learning. Just attempt it people, it's really not that hard . But anyway, those people who are 'cloning' MSN, you should come up with new ideas.

MSN Webchat clone, MSN Server clone, MSN Webchat themes... is there no originality and creativity left in the world? No offence, but I don't agree with you there. Building an architecture similar to msn chat is far from not expanding their knowledge, at least they are doing something. As for exact rip of MSN Chat... that depends. I've seen the work of ziggy on client software, they weren't rips. Perhaps something good might come out of it. Microsoft Windows was a ripped idea from Apple's OS. In the real world, there are more colors than black or white.

Chuck, no need to appologize man. You're more than free to disagree. It just kind of drives me insane when, after 8 years of working with mIRC, all of a sudden all these people are obsessed with MSN... how it looks, how it works, and the absolutely uncontrollable obsession so many of them have with needing to stay connected to it, or something that is an exact duplicate. I've been watching several rooms on other networks, and it's refreshing to actually see some people who were so brainwashed by MSN coding that they are having to basically learn everything all over again to handle new protocols... and they are apparently enjoying it. It seems that some people just can not realize that there is more to the real life world than Microsoft and it's subsidieries, and there is more to the chat world than MSN.

I'm rather surprised by some of the harsh reactions being thrown in here. Dynasty ... go for it!! I wish you the best, and look forward to seeing what you come up with. Glad you are proactive. I look forward to ziggy's work also... and any of you other PROACTIVE people. WHAT is so wrong with making things similar to MSN chat? What kept some of YOU in MSN chat? Other threads talk about how yahoo and aol blah blah ... MSN is better. So what is wrong with making something similar to what you all thought was better? I chat in international rooms. Aesthetics (chatroom look) and ability to use some of your sctipts/bots ARE a big part of the average chatter's life. Many don't chat in IRC or yahoo, aol, etc because of that... and have NO desire to settle for something less appealing or more difficult. COMFORTABILITY, FAMILIARITY, SIMILARITY, EASE ... are a few key words many find important. I thank all of you for making my chat experience as good as it is... so please quit bashing proactive people who are offering more alternatives. By the way, I'm thrilled if my great scripts you made will still work in Dynasty's realm. Thanks (steps off podium now), [glow=yellow,2,300]Cal[/glow]

Cal wrote br] you dont know true how that is. I was intrested ONCE in scripting. I started asking questions and was reading how to begin a script. BUT a new person to the computer still needs imput and when I started asking the questions to things a little more advanced I was brushed off, so I gave up on the learning scripting and concentrated on my Viper and using some very good scripts people have put out instead. Guess I am saying SOMETIMES its best to just experience... COMFORTABILITY, FAMILIARITY, SIMILARITY, EASE I hope that there will be a alternative site where mirc still connects and my Viper does too... But if not, well I will say you all made the experience of chat alot more fun than it probably would have been. And Yahoo, I do hope the UK finds a way to chat whether on MSN or in the alternative and that I agree that some who keep saying let it go(I wonder how many of those were the ones screaming loudest for a fix almost a year ago when the 45 ocx came into being...) are being quite selfish and less and less proactive.

i think we will find users are not so much addicted to msn as to the fact that they want a fairly simple interface to use! My views and comments in part are on behalf of the comman user not scripts bot users ,but everyone seems to point in that direction! When we should look at this from the ordinary users view! Some are as addicyed to the irc as to msn itself!
