Dont patronise me. It can go so far that way, that people will only mainly program for msn, like how sad would that be !

well dont keep twisting everything i say it really depends on your definition of sad, i call ripping peoples scripts or programs and calling them your own sad or classing trying to crash msn, take rooms or split the servers sad, i dont class writing software for a relativly good overall service that youve had many years of good chatting out of sad

Whats so " different " with other ircx servers? Or is it you just like the challenge of writing elite connections for their auth process Sorry man, but whats the problem if people still like MSN? If it really bugs you that much, just ignore anything to do with it. I'm not trying to be harsh, but I find that quote ^ derogotary. I'm not elite, and I dont write elite connections.. but it's a learning curve, and something that a lot of people are still happy to help me with (Sie, Zeus/Dan). I'm not sure why have such a one-sided view on the subject, you spent time there too right?

Sorry mike, it wasnt "aimed" at you, more of the people on msn I wouldnt consider it a learning curve, spending most of your time scripting for mirc, time would be much better spent learning far more useful languages. (C++, PHP, ASP, etc) I dont have a one sided view, i just have my view. You know i spent time there, and i liked it in the beginning, until i saw some of the behaviour of people who abuse the service.

andrew im not going to argue with you, what i dont get is if you feel so strongly that its "sad" to program stuff for msn for a long time, then why dont you go to irc and spend time doing something you find meaningful rather then trying to convert the rest of us

The thing about those people though.. it's easy to avoid them. Hell, I havent been on for 4 days, because I've been trying to get my connection written properly. Take for example a certain 'Admin' on the (now defunct) Techgear server... I didnt like him, so I stayed away. You're not even on MSN anymore so you have nothing to worry about. But there are still people who I like to hang out with. As for programming something 'useful'... well, I dont have that sort of knowledge, and I really dont have the time right now (because of family, college, work etc) to start learning. Writing for MSN helps me relax to a point, it's something I can do and it is challenging, when I have ideas like a dll-less / socketless / ocxless connection.. I very much doubt I'll ever be able to create that fully (already done the first part), but it's nice to try. It's a goal. Fun

"As for programming something 'useful'... well, I dont have that sort of knowledge" How do you think i learn, i wasnt born with knowledge, nobody was. You say have no time, but you have spent 4 days trying to write a connection Good luck on the dll-less / socketless / ocxless connection Ps, how do you plan on transferring the data between the server and you without sockets? lol

4 days = somehow ended up totalling 4 hours - every flowering chance I get (like tonight) gets cut short for one reason or another (e.g. mum is going to bed in 45 minutes )
As for the connection... I heard it's possible. Th|ef (Roland) wrote one last year.. uses on *:auth* { although I'm yet to look into that. One step at a time.. If I ever get there..
