You really think MSN need to wait till someone releases a connection to know people who arent Web TV sending Web TV information? Theyve probably known since just after the first ever person who tried it connected, but its just taking them this long to fix it (usual MS).

because of the real name feature. msntv sends real strings and has no real name. something scripts can only do if sending regcookie. so anybody who looks and sees who is connecting msntv and has a realname must not be msntv.. its good thing that doesn't make much sense

ok.... 1) andrew is right, they have known about it for ages, they only cripple the bugs when we find them and start trying to backdoor our way into the network... 2) i also agree if it wasnt for charles advertising the fact he worked out how to sneek in through the back door they would have most likely done little or nothing because they would be oblivious to the fact that it was spreading round the internet. 3) i know for a fact msn staff check this forum and what goes on inside it so bragging and posting exactly how you broke in by posting the connection code is just plain commercial suicide. 4) charles ive been in msn longer then you most probably and over that time ive learned msn are smarter then anyone gives them credit for, koach knows the score and he knows what we know, when bots and clients are released they cant see how were connecting most of the time, but when people like you just blabber out how its done and show the world the connection source msn have the gun pointing at your head and you just supplied them the bullets 5) learn from this lesson that if you have an idea or find a way to get into msn dont for hecks sake post it about, what they dont know about they cant fix, so do us all a favour and keep your stuff quiet... if u make a client that can do it... fine release it, just dont tell everyone how its done, you just ruin it for all the developers in msn who want to release programs that dont split rooms or cause msn more pain 6) you go do this again and give out anything like this in a public place where we know msn watches then ill probably shoot you myself and ill give andrew the spikey mace to clobber ya with
