But it does offer some 'cross' platform potential. Only on Windows and with the 20mb .net runtime..

Only on Windows and with the 20mb .net runtime.. .Net code will work on other operating systems. For linux .Net is already out. Mono is the .Net implementation for Linux. www.go-mono.com/Mono isn't complete and I'ven't tested it, but I know some people whole have tested the performence. They say same .Net code works faster or with same speed on linux with mono compared to on windows with Microsoft developed .Net framework for windows.

20mb .net runtime is a problem for people on slow connections. Hey Alex I want to know how many people complain about the .Net runtime, I'm interested in the statistics.

lol @ everyone complaining. Why should you have to download something for linux and windows to run programs. If people actually had the users best interests at heart, they wouldnt use .net, so you dont have to download the framework. Should just write it in C/C++.
btw web, thats the Software Development Kit for the framework. The normal framework just has the files to run .net programs, i assume the SDK has the software to develop .net programs.
