My god. basic programming principles, test, test, test and test again. If you tested it thoroughly you would not need so many builds to fix such trivial things.

Yeah just like Micro$oft again... they never feel the need to waste time on Alpha and Beta builds of there product line, oh wait what version is the release on Longhorn??. Product testing is such a waste... that's were Micro$oft and most professional software companies go wrong, public beta testing!! How many patches have been released for XP since it's release? They must have tested, tested, tested and tested again! The good thing about freedom of choice is, if you don't like it you don't have to do it/use it

mouse one person can test and test as much as they like but there can still be bugs that they dont notice, human minds arnt that powerful that they can see every bug in a piece of software even with loads of builds, lol

OK next beta released ;D Build 000455 Some important updates have been added to this new build, The PDF help files have had a massive overhaul to bring them up to date, The menus are now all up and running but disabled so the content can be added next, there are 5 new msn channels added to the list and they have been reordered into subcategories, the about menu screen now works and you can get your build information from it to see if you need an update next build, the Sound FX Library idea was dropped because international language support seemed a better idea so it has been replaced, the macro list has been properly set out ready to put them into their menus and some minor bugs have been fixed. www.ad2k.net/

Well, you release your program to a selection of people on different OS's. They can test it and report bugs. Not release a beta to the same public as you would as a non beta.
public beta testing is a bad idea, mainly because your program is fully of bugs, and they will have to keep downloading it, each build or so, and will loose interest in the product veery quickly.

I gathered that by the last line. Microsoft may have issues, but you have to hand it to them, they do make billions each year.

people dont have to participate in a beta like pashy is going to wait for the first non beta test edition to be released later on the whole point of public beta testing is i can get a wide range of bug reports and different views on features and layouts, front the feedback ive had via email on the program ive fixed over 40 bugs that i didnt know existed which ive been able to successfully fix, and a lot of people are happy to run the betas and just update when they see a new build as installing doesnt take much time oe effort

LOLOL ;D If I laugh any harder, I'll have to call an ambulance. This has become a comedy thread. Thanks to Alex, Rumbaar and Mouse for the tears of laughter. Alex: I think you have it right... with a release clearly saying Beta-not all working, you set it up for you guru's to kill the bugs. This will cut down on 50 pages of bug reports and updates later. Rumbaar: Agree with you fully. MSN succeeds only due to lack of options/competition. I've never met a person completely happy with any microsoft product. In fact, bet they leave things unresolved or not included just to make money off future releases. Irresponsible product management. Mouse: LOL, the voice of frustration... Hopefully you have the knowledge to help beta test for him. Personally, I'm the same as darling Pashy... waiting for the post that will surprise me by declaring NON-BETA release is available Regards, [glow=yellow,2,300]Cal[/glow]
