when I want to close my client it freezes , the whole project crashes socket.close
when I click the disconnect button I disconnect from the server but when I try to close the project it just freezes up, and it gets annoying having to restart vb everytime I want to try something >.< Anyone know how to stop this ??

when u disconnect and you are in a chat room try sending the part event
Socket.SendData "PART " & room & vbcrlf
then close down the sockets and if u want to unload the project do what InspIrion said
Socket.SendData "PART " & room & vbcrlf Socket.Close Unload Me

Try this
Private Sub Form_UnLoad() socket.Close DoEvents End Sub
If you are still having problems after that my only thoughts are it is something other than the socket causing the client to freeze or you have another socket open

Ok im gonna have a go Private Sub Form_UnLoad() socket.Close DoEvents Unload me End End Sub If that dont work, have you concidered it may be a memory problem. . Some kinda lag in your memory . . Do you have any probs with any other applications.

i believe its a problem with the socket itself, i had a problem like that. I tried loads of ways, closing the socket, different ways of unloading, still didnt work.
I just paused the program, then stop it. seems to work for me.
