I appears in the renderchat.msw which as in groups does not show in the page source you have to do view-source:http://chat.msn.com/renderchat.msw while in the room

hehe thx!, i plan on updating shadow for those on subscriptions (+ those in groups). i used what you said but didnt see any subscription info :/ but Kent was kind enough to lend me an account and then i see it lol.. anyhow, i plan on using a url like login.passport.com/ppsecure/post.srf?id=2260&ru=http://chat.msn. ca/renderchat.msnw&login=email@domain.com&passwd=passwordhere for the updater so i can get subscription info/ticket/profile... (ca just in case they're not really in usa lol) but does anyone know how to do the same for groups , when i try and use that url it takes me back to chat.msn.com (ca region)

You can use mshtml doc (HTMLDocument then look at the Cookies of the renderchat ) or you can find some way of using view-source: ( like i do )

I lost my updater source when my HD's screwed up, it got the info from the groups (from the renderchat function).....i used a downloadfile function i found some place. It downloaded the page to a local file, and i read that.

Private Declare Function URLDownloadToFile Lib "urlmon" Alias "URLDownloadToFileA" (ByVal pCaller As Long, ByVal szURL As String, ByVal szFileName As String, ByVal dwReserved As Long, ByVal lpfnCB As Long) As Long

if youre having problems navigating to chat.msn.com/RenderChat.msnw or the groups url at groups.msn.com/RenderChat.msnw you might be having problems with their auto redirector, to get over it do the followng - Make sure you are logged in - in the passport you want the cookies for and first navigate either to chat homepage in first case or to your group chat room, then try putting the url into your browser. I've found this works if you are getting problems.

Another hint is to use BeforeNavigate2 to halt some redirections
