No, seriously... you're joking, aren't you? Do you honestly think, even for a second, that the heads of MSN Chat really care how many people type in a name on an online petition? Look around for a second... the decision has already been made. Some people have already given money over to pay for the use of chat. MSN owns their servers. They pay for their servers. They maintain their servers. They staff their servers. They offer chat for free. It is well within their rights as a business to tell everyone to screw off if they so desire, and to charge whatever they wish for the chat service. That's the thing about being a company... you get to decide on the actions of that company. Now consider this... for 2 years, people have been whining about porn bots and pedo rooms. "MSN Won't do something about it... they're lazy bastages... they are morons... they know nothing..." and the list goes on. People insist that MSN not only allows these actions, but goes out of their way to promote the actions. Users demand instant solutions. They yell over and over that MSN MUST DO SOMETHING NOW!!! Guess what. You got your wish.

Is this what our lives have come to? Spending more time worring about a d**n chat service than really needed? I totally agree with Drac, msn won't care about a petition, and it is thier product.
I have quite a few more thoughts about this whole process... but imma keep them for myself at the moment since it seems no one can have thier own opinions around here anymore.

corporate decision ... don't make me laugh the more users, the more companies will be interested in advertising through u ... look at the banners if ur in a chatroom maybe it is a corporate decision, but from my point of view a bad one, and as for the abuse, I said it in another post also, it won't stop by closing down msn chat, it will only move on to other chat services, the pedofhiles will just follow wherever the most of the kids go ... :-/and making ppl to pay for it also attracks wrong ppl, I will not pay, most of u will not pay, but the pornadvertisers will in my room (together with some other owners) we never had much trouble, if there where ppl disbehaving in private, there was always an owner or op to do something about it, and for the pornographic advertisings, with help of our scripts we just kicked 95% of the out our room before they could do anything and u also never heard me ask for msn to solve the whatever prob, I (and most of the ppl around here) always tried to solve those problems ourself, msn only worked as a contra force by forbidding scripts and bots to connect to their rooms, while we only did it to clean our chatrooms and of course there are ppl who will make abuse of this, who start ppflooding or pass cr*cking or whatever, but there are only a few ... and for the pedophiles and such, on chat fans in the dutch cat I see half of the titles consisting of weird and extremely wrong names, easy job to close them down for msn, doing this would get rid of half of the pedophiles I believe to make a long story short, closing down won't help ... it only moves *didn't intended to make a long story of it, sorry for that *

Nice idea, but i'm sorry to say it's completley pointless.
The main reason behind this is to help stop the amount of child abuse as a result of the net. How many millions of people do you think would vote in favour of that compared to the amount that may sign that petition?

i for one wouldnt. child abuse is sick and would rather see msn close it servers totally than for it to continue. if you really feel the need to use msn then go ahead and pay. theres lots of other servers where u can chat for free if u wish.
