My opinion on everything is actually in article (well not my exact opinions - but this is as close as it gets from a non-having to type prespective):

I never said anyone who signed this MSN Chat petition didn't care, I'm just saying that the issue with Child Abuse and MSN has become way too big and MSN seems to have their mind set.

I think what he's saying is that whether it will actually do anything or not (the so-called "signing" of the petition), let them sign it anyway... so at least then they can feel that they have tried everything they can to stop the changes. Cling to false hope, basically.

In some cases petitions work, in others they don't, in this case I reckon there's a fair chance it won't, but at the end of the day none of us will know until the petition is put forward. Personally I'm not to bothered what happens to MSN chat, made some good friends, but if it disapears or I have to pay I won't be upset, I still have messanger.

Well it looks like MSN has already started making a new chat home page: chat.msn-int.com so it kinda looks like they are going ahead with it. But i believe that chat rooms in Australia will still be open and that we have different rules to America / UK.

I think making people pay is a bit much...but they could make you give out your credit card number to make sure you were old enough

Not really, parents could use their credit card so that their children could use MSN Chat... or children could use credit cards without their parents knowing.
