X-Team, As the originator of this thread... [glow=yellow,2,300] Would not break my heart at all if you would lock it.[/glow] Every point I was trying to make has been achieved and proven. Some really great response was received, and a few people have adjusted their style of response when contrary. I call that SUCCESS. I'm thinking there is enough here already for awareness sake. Your Decision, Thanks, [glow=yellow,2,300]Cal[/glow]

I don't see any reason to lock it, i'm sure it can continue in a civilized manner
Ohio, not everybody that had negative comments in that thread posted because they were "jealous" as you put it, some people were simply trying to point out that duplicating MSN chat right down to the images is not a smart idea if you genuinely want a project like that to grow and be successful.
Having said that, others then used that angle to constantly bash the guy from, mostly in an agressive way, which was out of order, but you can't put everybody into the same box, some peoples criticism was intended as advice.

... am I the only one who notices that this is just history repeating itself?! someone starts a serious thread, some '1337' 'kiddies' (probably half of them is grown up allready, but whatever) notice it, reply with what they think is sarcasm while what they say is always the same; 'u suck and ur work sucks too, but I'm glad mine is better'. the normalized and more cultivated ppl on this board see a thread growing while the point was allready made clear after 3 or 4 posts, they decide to react (ending in extreme long posts from ender, ohio, exi|e, or some others) and the thread keeps growing ... in extreme rare situations it really helps (as in this case with overdose) but most of the times it doesn't help at all, only ending in stupid argumenting about even more stupid subjects ... I think those who fancy the long posts to just write some standard piece of text, in which u can change some names and have the abillity to change some 1337 words ... ;D (put it in ur popups) ignorant post reply:{ remove txtfiles\xt.proboards.txt var %name1 $$?"who is the most ignorant person this time?" var %name2 $$?"who helps the most ignorant person this time?" var %name3 $$?"possible second helper? (put a - if none)" var %name4 $$?"possible third helper? Lol - Interesting points are raised here, i agree with Ohio, too much flaming on public boards on general. People put their work up on boards because they feel proud of it, they want to improve it, and they want constructive critisicm about their work. Personal attacks, outright accusations and the like do not help the person, and as Ozzy pointer out, they do not help the image of the person making the remarks. On another note, I have no idea about GWC, can someone point me in the direction of the Controversial post/site/client? Ty

Loon, I was not classifying everyone that dissagreed in the same "box". David dissagreed and is listed in group A. You dissagreed and would be listed in group A. But then those others that dissagreed, and started a flamefest, or were so busy flaming that you could not tell if they dissagreed or not. That is who my comments were directed at. There is clear difference between disagreeing and offering advice (as done by yourself, David and a few others) and picking an angle to bash someone. The latter group, group B was the "box" my comments were directed at. For reasons of jealousy, anger, sheep-like tendacies, or a myraid of other personal issues that cause those in that "box" to act in such a way. I don't think anyone there said it was wrong to dissagree, especially not myself since I dissagree as well. But there is a right and a wrong way to dissagree.
Edit: Forgot to reply to Tosti.
Tosti, you never cease to make me laugh. Your wit and sarcasm are perfectly executed and I enjoy reading your posts. ;D

Doesn't matter anyways because msn is becoming PAID. So the downloaders have to learn that their will not be any released scripts that are just handed to you. Look at the good side this will give you sometime to study up on scripting . Instead of downloading . As for the board it does help. What do you want us to be. Your slave and do whatever you say for us to do lol.

Actually, I've been thinking of releasing an mIRC script for normal users so they can understand it (or get close to understanding it). I've thought about digging up and distributing an older version of Odium Strike and have it boot in "simple mode" (and trust me, when I mean simple it's simple). Not sure yet, but I doubt clients and scripts to public are far from over..

a good idea ender ! ! !
however, i think most "normal" chatters arent really that interested in scripts etc.
if they were then the majority wouldve used their time on msn to learn about them.
normal chatters just want to chat lol. and they want somewhere easy, with lotsa traffic and quirky little things like fancy characters and cute emoticons because thats what they are used to.
it must also be easy to navigate. unfortunately to get around most of the chat sites i have been looking at, is painful.
i digress.... the "simple" script is a good idea ! if you do it you better get yourself ready to hold some lessons "scripting for dummies" lol ;D
btw...the dummies thing is not flaming ppl who dont use scripts...i class myself as one of those dummies

lol its not that im fine or that i protest the gwc or anyone elses idea, it's that i dont care, until you involve me or something im part of. It's a lot like when the religious freaks come up to my house and say how great they think their god is, woohoo whatever. it's fine until they tell me this is what i need to do, and im going to burn and die by the hands of some nazi facist f*ck who lives in the sky. now that ive vented that, lol, my point is the person can do what they like, but putting up banners for techgear could very easily pass the notion that we are somehow affiliated or contributing to that "site". And even more so putting TechGear banners on a site like that without really asking doesnt seem all that courteous or thought out.. and since im such a pr*ck.. if i find someone not being courteous, you better believe im going to flame the b4st4rds.
