Im just interested why theres so many people here and not many of them visit, or if they do they leave. What would encourage you to stay? Let me elaborate on 'More help with the server/ircd' by this i mean more help connecting mirc, tutorial pages and such. If there isnt an option on the poll about what you would like, please post. Thanks .

Yahoo, Night runs the server very well. It UnrealIRCD, runs on linux (cant remember which one), and has a dedicated T1 line. David, Night and a couple of other people administer the server very well. So its very stable and reliable, and well managed, especially in comparison to what chat services some people are offering at the moment. Loon, rofl Oddman, what is it about ircd you dont like? (From a room owner, and a participent point of view?)

If I remember rightly, Dangermouse didnt like IRCd too, but the thing is it grows on you. Sure, it seems weird at first ("Huh? Where's the access list?") but soon you'll realise ChanServ is your new best friend

Ok, im gonna reply from a group owner and chatters point of veiw.
My community has been running about 2 years and we are a close bunch of friends . Our room has been open for 24/7 these last 2 years with ppl always chatting and we all get on great .
Now with the latest msn saga, not many of us can chat on msn (I can but not much good if all my friends cannot) .
We have been currently chatting in our community chatroom but we also understand that this is not practical as we will never get any newbies being a locked community.
We have tried loads of differant servers and rooms but none yet seem to be as simple as msn and as stable as msn was , remember most of my members are not all that computer litterate so we need to make things simple as possible.
When I tried xt server it did not have webchat, but theres a few we are currently checking out now that look promising.

Danger... I think all these new webchat clients will appeal many people to make an easy switch from MSN to IRCd

i totally agree with ozzy.
i have checked heaps of other servers - all pretty much the same and boring boring boring.
for starters there is not much traffic at this stage. i know that will come in the future, but who wants to lose their chat buddies in the process ? not me.
secondly chatters miss all the gimmicky things that you could do with msn, like fancy nicks and profiles etc..
i know you are all prolly rolling your eyes, but it's fact. something like that is a good way of more shy peeps being able to open up lines of communication.
i am using the community chat room now. and i know others are also, but with a comm of over 860 peeps, i can barely get 10 ppl in my room now as there is no traffic flow.
the idea of all communities getting together and creating a comm page to advertise our rooms was good, but it perhaps hasnt taken off as we wouldve liked.
ultimate in my mind would be for someone to make something very very similar to msn, with all the gimmicks and a nice easy interface.

Thats right Pash, it is very easy at times to get dogmatic on scripts/bots ircd/ircx/mode chg etc. . . and our lil scripting terminology, forgetting the average user that just likes the simple things like change of font/profile/emotions etc . .

you know what i think would be the best all around solution for everyone I think that XT should get a website / domain and while keeping the forum here, actually have a website as a central base, now i know your all going to say what does this have todo with chat, well its simple, if XT has its own homepage it gives the millions of people who used Bots and Scripts in MSN Chat the option of being able to easily get the latest information on what XT members are planning todo to combat the situation, i mean if we were really nice to webby ya never know we might be able to get some deal going with techgear so that XT can work with tg to provide a really decent service for all the people that have stuck by XT's ideas and programs like viper, weve got the technology, we certainly have the manpower (and womenpower ) and between us we have IRCd and IRCx experts, we have software developers, mIRC scripters, website designers, graphic designers and more, if we had some kind of central base tracking all the XT members projects, all the years we have been making stuff or enhancing MSN wouldnt go to waste and people would be able to see exactly what we are doing and how we are getting there to either find a way to get something simular to msn / or something different but better all round for newbies and experts alike , i mean XT is all about enhancing the service and making chat a better place, well now we have the oppertunity to show MSN we wern't kidding, if we provide the public with a decent free service like we have been doing all these years by giving them with IRC access, the oppertunity to use multiple bots, scripts and actually provide solutions to where MSN fell such as ppl to remove paedos and anti PB software, you guys know as well as i do, with a simular interface and us actually succeeding where msn fell were going to drain all their customers away because their more likely to go with a group that actually knows what their doing and are willing to keep what we have been fighting for all these years alive by providing them with literally a complete MSN replacement, then staying on a paid service which we all know has gone totally down the drain

I think a website would even be good to post a list of tutorials and addons collected from the forum...
