new thread about different servers. I dont really think there is any news going to come of it. It will be closed. Age verifcation(credit card) will be required along with a payment to use it again. Dont see them coming back with free chat rooms like before. Was going to happen, just a matter of time. Makes me think back to people who complained when they were banned from MSN....because they abused the network. Quite an example being made by them now eh?

I think that it is a great idea. They should have done it along time ago. If MSN makes people register and pay for their own chat rooms, than their will be less problems with people taking chat rooms. I think that it will be a lot safer in the long run for everybody.

Well my days of MSN chat have an expiry date now. I live in Australia & won't have the option for pay chat. How full of rubbish can MSN get? They are only doing this to fill there pockets. Any regular MSN chatter knows the spamming in MSN rooms is far worse than any User created rooms & user created rooms are far more moderated than any of MSN's rooms. As for Sysops parking in MSN rooms is about as useful as a silent cop in the middle of the road. As for these paedophiles you will find them in MSN's teen rooms. MSN couldnt care less about there users, never have & never will it's all just been a gimmick, they knew when they changed OCX last year what was going to happen. Myself & alot of others predicted that MSN were just setting up for pay chat. They got $$ in there eyes to as far as Ive ever witnessed when MSN weigh up $$ to the people the $$ always is the winner. I hope MSN take a nose dive & go bankrupt. cya on another server eXILe
P.S For those who go to romance rooms my advice is if you are goin to pay for chat, join an internet dating site at least u will have more of a certainty of picking up.

They are closing UK chatrooms, and all links to chat from the UK based MSN sites. I believe it wont affect US users.
UK users will need to use a credit card to access chat, but it'll be interesting to see how they go about detecting the UK users.
If it's just done by passport, then anybody here could get somebody in the US to create them a new passport, and problem solved.
If it's another way then i still don't think you'd have a problem getting your passport to auth through mIRC, it'll probally just be web based access they will stop.
I would think it'll mean another ocx update to include whatever changes/security they add, and it'll be interesting to see who grabs all the high placed hex rooms that are currently on UK lists (Ozzy has about 6 of them lol)
It's a shame that alot of UK people might loose good rooms that they have had for a long time, but the reasons for MSN doing this are understandable.
* edit, i see US rooms have to be paid for, oh well
